Plastic Surgery Specialists offers noninvasive skin tightening with Thermage, an FDA approved  device employing radiofrequency energy to stimulate production of collagen, the building block of skin. The immediate result is smoother, firmer, tighter skin. Results are long-lasting, and may continue to improve for six months post-procedure. All skin types and areas of the face and body, including the eyelids, can be treated. As there is no cutting or scarring, Thermage may be repeated in the years ahead. A Thermage treatment takes about one hour, with mild warmth or discomfort during the procedure, mild redness or swelling afterwards. Normal activities may be resumed right away.

Each patient’s genetics and lifestyle will influence longevity of results, be it Botox, fillers, light or laser treatments. Smoking and unprotected sun exposure will cause skin to age more quickly, while a healthy lifestyle will enhance what we can do in the office. Additional treatments are sometimes recommended to maximize or maintain desired results. Our products and treatments work synergistically, and a more beautiful result is possible when used in combination. We can tailor a package to fit your needs, within your budget, whether for a special event or total lifestyle change.

Eyebrow tattooing is the artful application of a medical grade tattoo to recreate eyebrows lost to disease or trauma, fill in sparse or thin brows, reshape brows that are uneven from over-plucking or waxing, camouflage scars from piercings, and add color or definition to brows that may have faded. Unlike microblading, which typically lasts six to twelve months, eyebrow tattooing is considered a permanent, and may be more cost-effective, as less maintenance is required.

Fractional resurfacing with the Pixel laser is employed to improve skin texture and tone, without the lengthy recuperation of traditional ablative laser procedures. The Pixel is a micro-thermal laser treatment that triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating collagen synthesis, resulting in smoother, firmer skin. It improves existing scars, whether from acne or injury. Pixel skin resurfacing can be used on patients of most skin types and all areas of the body. As it spares healthy tissue, Pixel may be performed on delicate skin areas including the face, neck, décolleté and hands, and may be combined with IPL for an enhanced result.
Generally, a treatment regimen involves two to four sessions spaced at four-week intervals. During and after treatment, patients will experience warmth and redness, comparable to a sunburn. There may be slight swelling and tingling. As new skin replaces devitalized tissue, the skin will flake, a sign healing is underway. Steady improvement will continue over weeks to months.

Deep laser resurfacing with a superpulsed CO2 laser can be performed on the entire face or just specific areas to treat deeper lines, surface irregularities, and discolored skin. The recovery time is considerably longer than with fractional resurfacing, but sometimes this may be the best option for select patients. Treated areas will appear like a superficial burn for 1 to 2 weeks, and the newly healed skin can then remain shiny and pink for several months

IPL is used to treat unwanted hair on the face and body, for both men and women. A series of treatments is required, spaced at six week intervals. Best results are achieved with darker hair on skin that is not tanned.

For patients with broken capillaries, flushing, rosacea, photoaging, abnormal pigmentation, large pore size, blotchiness and brown spots, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) may be the perfect answer. IPL rejuvenates the skin, fading brown spots, addressing pore size and fine lines, rejuvenating the skin in a gentle manner with no downtime. In order to achieve brighter, more evenly-toned skin, a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart is recommended. You may experience mild redness and darkening of brown spots, but can usually return to normal activities, including work, immediately after treatment.
It is important that you not be actively tanned prior, or have significant sun exposure after the treatments. We will recommend a custom skin care program to achieve maximum benefit. Although face and neck are most commonly treated, improvement can also be achieved on the chest, hands, arms and other areas.
